Little Explorers Science workshops will involve our small but mighty learners exploring the different investigative skills through the use of science. Our workshops will run for a full week, giving each child the opportunity to participate. The week will include multiple engaging and hand-on activities that make the children hypothesis and discover their answers through science experiments. These stations will be set up within our indoor and outdoor area in all age groups and support their learning with age-appropriate experiments sparking their love of science. These activities will encourage the children to communication, hypothesis, problem solve and learn from one another as well as develop their sense of curiosity about the world.
Resources to conduct these experiments for our workshop will include science equipment for example beakers, test tubes, measuring cups as well as materials to use paper, food colouring, glue, sticky tape, cardboard, shaving foam, vinegar, bi-carb soda, liquid soap, milk, oranges, pineapples, masking tapes, pens.
Giving the Educators the opportunity to further plan and incorporate EYLF focusing particularly on Outcome 4: Children are confident and involved learners, specifically being able to select and introduce appropriate tools technologies and media and provide the skills, knowledge and techniques to enhance children’s learning.
It will set up our science equipment and materials so we can continue to plan and implement science activities throughout their learning journey, not just National Science Week. It will give them an introduction to science and spark questions that they may have never had before.
